Earth & Fire 2009

Our 15th International Ceramic Fair, Earth and Fire will take place in the grounds of of Rufford Abbey, once one of the great country estates of Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, now a popular public space. Rufford Craft Centre, at the heart of the park, in the old stables, boasts a large gallery space renowned for its exhibitions of contemporary craft along with workshop and education facilities which include the newly refurbished Creative Learning Centre, and potter in residence studio. During Earth and Fire 2009 the gallery will be showing work by David and Margaret Frith.
Earth & Fire annually attracts an audience of over 8,000 and enables visitors from all over the country to buy direct from more than 100 potters and enjoy a programme of artists' demonstrations and talks, trade stalls and Universities' stands. Entry to the event is free to the public (only a small parking charge applies per car).
Each year exhibitors have shared their secrets by giving demonstrations of their techniques including; hand-built and thrown forms, figurative sculpture, glazing and firing methods.
